Lucy DeStefano

Global Head of Trade Execution and Systematic Investing

Lucy DeStefano serves as the Global Head of Trade Execution and Systematic Investing at Soros Fund Management LLC, where she leads the Macro business, which focuses on the impacts of the developed market central banks and business cycles. Her team analyzes the actions and reaction function of monetary policymakers and their toolkits to identify trends and inefficiencies in the various macroeconomic asset classes, with primary focus on rates, FX, and equities. She also works with the global trading desk, helping to implement the investments and bet structures for portfolio management teams across asset classes. Her team serves as both a filter and advisor, navigating markets to maximize efficiency and deliver the best possible outcomes.

Prior to joining Soros Fund Management in 2018, Lucy was Head of Trading in equity investing at Citadel and served as Global Head of Trading at Pine River. Earlier in her career, she was a managing director in the equities division at Morgan Stanley. She began her career in equity trading at Goldman Sachs, where she spent 11 years in various trading roles.

Lucy earned an AB, cum laude, from Princeton University. She is actively involved in her community, serving on the Board of Trustees at Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit, N.J., and as a host family for Right to Dream, a soccer academy based in Accra, Ghana.
