Phil DeSantis

Global Head of Credit

Phil DeSantis serves as the Global Head of Credit at Soros Fund Management LLC, overseeing High Yield, Distressed Debt, Private Credit, Investment Grade, and Structured Products with more than 30 years of experience in the industry.

Prior to joining Soros Fund Management in 2017, Phil was President and Managing Partner of the Candlewood Investment Group, where he focused on illiquid opportunities. Before that, he served as Co-Head of Global Credit and was a member of Credit Suisse’s Fixed Income Management Committee. Previous roles at Credit Suisse included Head of Credit Products Americas, Head of Public Credit Trading, Head of High Yield Distressed Trading, and Head of Private Distressed Trading.

Phil began his career as a credit trader at Lehman Brothers and later became Managing Director in the Leveraged Finance Group at DLJ.

Phil holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
